Friday English Keynote

Sister Simone Campbell, SSS

Sister Simone Campbell is the Executive Director of NETWORK Lobby for Catholic Social Justice – a federal advocacy organization founded by Catholic Sisters to lobby in Washington, D.C. for policies that mend the gaps in income and wealth in the United States. She has led six cross-country “Nuns on the Bus” trips focused on tax justice, healthcare, economic justice, comprehensive immigration reform, voter turnout, bridging divides in politics and society, and mending the gaps. Sister Simone Campbell wrote the famous “Nuns’ Letter,” considered by many as critically important in convincing Congress to support the Affordable Care Act in 2010, and is the author of “A Nun on the Bus: How All of Us Can Create Hope, Change, and Community,” published by HarperCollins. She has received numerous awards, spoke at the 2012 Democratic National Convention, and has appeared on 60 Minutes, The Colbert Report, and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. She is a religious leader, attorney, and poet with extensive experience in public policy and advocacy for systemic change.

Christina Lamas

Christina Lamas made her way into the field of Youth Ministry after ten years of volunteering at her home parish, where she was drawn to empower young people to find ways to actively live out their faith and to continue to grow in their relationship with Christ in their daily living. She went on to hold multiple positions within the Office of Religious Education for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Currently, she is serving as the Executive Director of the National Federation of Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM). Christina brings to NFCYM 20+ years of experience in catechesis and youth ministry. She and her daughter, Isabella, reside in Maryland.

Brenda Noriega

Brenda Noriega nació y creció en Irapuato, Guanajuato; México. Ha estado sirviendo al pueblo de Dios desde edad temprana a nivel parroquial y diocesano. Brenda adquirió una maestría en ministerios pastorales de la Universidad de Santa Clara. Actualmente sirve a Dios en la Diócesis de San Bernardino como coordinadora de Pastoral Juvenil con jóvenes adultos. Brenda colabora a nivel regional como miembro del comite de Pastoral Juvenil de RECOSS (Comite de la Region XI de hispanohablantes). Ella es también miembro de la junta directiva del Equipo Nacional de Asesoramiento para el Ministerio con Jovenes Adultos. A Brenda le apasiona ayudar a personas en el discipulado y el desarrollo de liderazgo, especialmente acompañando a jóvenes ministros en su camino en el servicio de Dios y de su Iglesia.   

Brenda Noriega was born and raised in Irapuato, Guanajuato; Mexico. She has been serving God’s people since early age at the parish and diocesan level. Brenda acquired a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Ministries from the University of Santa Clara. She currently serves the Diocese of San Bernardino as the Young Adults Programs Coordinator. Brenda collaborates at the regional level as a member of the board of Pastoral Juvenil Committee at RECOSS (Region Eleven Committee of Spanish Speakers). She is also a board member of the National Advisory Board for Young Adult Ministry. Brenda is passionate about discipleship and leadership development, especially accompanying young ministers in their path serving God and his Church.

Frere Phong, FSC

Frère Phong là một tu sĩ thuộc Dòng La San, một dòng chuyên lo phục vụ giáo dục, đặc biệt trẻ nghèo. Frère được gọi đến phục vụ ở các đại hội giáo dục công giáo trong nhiều năm qua, và thường được các nơi trong nước Mỹ và bên Châu Âu gọi đến phục vụ trong các khóa huấn luyện giáo lý, tĩnh tâm giáo xứ, đại hội giới trẻ. Frère thường cố gắng chia sẻ một cách thật bình dị, để mời quý vị cùng cười, cùng học, cùng suy tư và cầu nguyện khi cùng nhau chia sẻ cảm nghiệm sống phục vụ Thiên Chúa và tha nhân với tinh thần đức tin và lòng nhiệt thành.

Brother Phong is a Brother of the De La Salle Christian Brothers. His dream is to be not only a passionate servant for all youth, but also a humble messenger of the youth, and his success in touching the hearts of many have led him to be invited to share at many Religious Education Congresses, Faith Formation, youth conventions, and retreats around the country, as well as internationally. A humble, dark “old man” with a smile that bespeaks a loving heart, he’ll definitely touch your heart with his many tales and recollections. Funny, energetic, and down to earth, he will surely make you laugh, learn, think and pray as he takes you on a road where spirituality intersects with true life experiences.

Archbishop Savio Tai Fai Hon, SDB, STD Hon

Archbishop Savio Tai Fai Hon, SDB, STD Hon was born in Hong Kong.  After studying at a Salesian school, he became a Salesian in 1969. He made perpetual vows in 1975 and was ordained a priest in Hong Kong in 1982.He received his B.A. in philosophy from the University of London and an STD rom Rome’s Pontifical Salesian University.  Archbishop was a visiting professor at various seminaries in China including Hong Kong. He was also responsible for the translation of the Catechism of the Catholic Church into Chinese. 

Father Hon became a member of the Pontifical Academy of Theology in 1999 and was named a member of the International Theological Commission in 2004 for two terms ending in 2014. In 2010, Pope Benedict XVI appointed Father Hon as Titular Archbishop of Sila and secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples and ordained him bishop in February 2-011.

Pope Francis named Archbishop Hon Apostolic Nuncio to Greece in September 2017, his first position in the diplomatic service.    


韓大輝總主教出生於香港;畢業於九龍鄧鏡波學校,於1969並加入慈幼會, 1975年發終身願。 他於1982年在香港晉鐸。韓大輝總主教取得倫敦大學哲學學士學位外,也於1988年及1999年分別考獲慈幼宗座大學神學博士以及宗座神學院院士學位。韓大輝於1990年代在中國大陸傳授神學;韓大輝除了1992年擔任聖神修院神學教材主編外,也於1993年至1995年也擔任《天主教教理》中文翻譯主編。

韓大輝總主教於1997年及1998年分別出任亞洲主教團神學關注辦公室成員及亞洲主教會議秘書助理;並於2004年起獲委任為國際神學委員會委員;此外,韓大輝也是香港聖神修院神哲學院神學教授、亞洲主教團協會神學顧問。

梵蒂岡於2010年12月23日宣布韓大輝總主教獲教宗本篤十六世委任為梵蒂岡萬民福音部秘書,同時被擢升為天主教錫拉教區領銜總主教。韓大輝總主教於2011年2月5日於聖伯多祿大殿晉牧。

2017年9月28日,教宗方濟各任命韩大辉總主教为宗座駐希臘大使,此为韩大辉總主教第一次擔任與梵蒂冈外交事務有關的職務。
